The Eastern Region Competition was founded in 2007 at Fioretto Fening Club. It was set up with a view of providing fencers in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne with a fun series of open foil competitions each year, regardless of their experience or competitive ambitions. It is is a great opportunity for novice, social and competitive to get out and have fun and get more valuable competition practice.

Now in it's third year, the series has grown stronger and stronger. Participation numbers now often exceed 20 fencers and the level of competition just doesn't stop getting better. In 2009 a championship format has been adopted for the 'ERC' competition, with a trophy going to the overall Champion at the end of the series.
